The Vienna Winter Series

The VRRC sponsors three events each winter: Christmas in Vienna, The Vienna Snowflake Run, and The Vienna Sweetheart Run. The events take place in December, January, and February respectively, in Vienna, Ohio. Each event has three races: a 5K run, a 1.5 mile run/walk, and a 1/2 mile Kids' Fun Run. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Location and Race Times

The races begin at the Vienna Township Gazebo located at the Vienna Presbyterian Church and across from the Vienna Amvets Post on Warren Sharon Rd. in Vienna Center. Runners should meet at the Vienna Amvets Post, 290 Youngstown-Kingsville Rd. (Route 193, Belmont Ave.) in Vienna Center prior to the races. Doors open at 11:30AM on race day.

The 1.5 mile run/walk begins at 12:45PM. The course takes runners around the Vienna Township Cemetary, located behind the Vienna Presbyterian Church in Vienna Center. The 5K and Kids' Fun runs begin at 1:30PM. The 5K course heads east on Warren-Sharon Rd. to Sodom-Hutchings and back, while the Kids' Fun Run takes place in the Vienna Township Cemetary.

Registration and Entry Fees

Registration is available online through the menu to the left, via a paper form available by e-mailing BOTWKNKTL85@aol.com, or on race day at the Vienna Amvets Post. Vienna Amvets is located at 290 Youngstown-Kingsville Rd. (Route 193, Belmont Ave.) in Vienna Center. Race day registration begins at 11:30AM.

Entry fees for the Kids' Fun Run are $1 preregistered or $2 on race day. The 1.5 mile run/walk is $8 preregistered, $10 on race day. The 1.5 mile run/walk is only $4 preregistered or $5 on race day for runners also registered in the 5K. The 5K run is $12 to preregister and $14 on race day.

All checks and money orders MUST be made payable to the Vienna Roadrunners Club!

Age Groups and Single-Event Awards

Age groups will be seperate for males and females. The groups are as follows: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & Over.

ALL finishers receive a medallion, just like the one at the top of this section. The medal is 2x2 inches.

5K Awards: Top 3 Male and Female, Top 3 Male and Female Masters, Top 3 Age Group, Oldest, Youngest, Middle-of-the-Pack, and Turtle.

1.5 Mile Walk and Run awards will be seperate. Awards are: Top 5 Male and Female, and Turtle.

Kids' Fun Run Awards will be given to the Top 3 Males and Females.

Series Awards

Runners who finish two out of three events will receive a special Series award. Those who finish all three events will receive an upgraded award. Awards will be mailed after the final race.

Goody Bags

All runners will receive a goody bag similar to this one and a pair of these nifty Asics socks. Be sure to check out the post-race buffet, filled with goodies- annual participants rave about it! :)
